Landproov ("we", "our", "us") is a property verification and management service for Nigerians in the diaspora. Our website is landproov.com. For any privacy-related enquiries, contact us at info@landproov.com.

2. What data we collect

We collect the following personal data when you use our platform:

• Account data: full name, email address, phone number, and country of residence when you create an account.
• Enquiry data: name, email, phone, location, property location, service type, and any message you submit via our contact form.
• Service data: property locations, service requests, payment status, and notes you provide when booking a service.
• Payment data: transaction references processed via Paystack or Flutterwave. We do not store card numbers or full payment details — these are handled by our payment processors.
• Usage data: your IP address and browser information collected automatically when you use the site.

3. How we use your data

We use your personal data to:

• Create and manage your account
• Process and fulfil service requests
• Send you service reports, confirmations, and updates
• Respond to enquiries submitted via our contact form
• Improve the platform and troubleshoot issues
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Legal basis for processing (UK/EU users)

For users in the UK and European Economic Area, we process your data under the following lawful bases:

• Contract performance: to deliver the services you have requested.
• Legitimate interests: to improve our services and prevent fraud.

• Consent: where you have provided explicit consent (e.g. marketing communications).

5. Data retention

We retain your account and service data for as long as your account is active, and for up to 7 years after closure to meet legal and tax obligations. Enquiry data is retained for 3 years. You may request deletion at any time (see section 7).

We use the following third-party services that may process your data:

• Supabase — database and authentication hosting
• Paystack — payment processing (NGN)
• Flutterwave — payment processing (GBP)
• IONOS — email delivery
• Google reCAPTCHA — spam prevention on forms

7. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
• Object to or restrict processing

8. Cookies

We use a single session cookie (landproov_session) to keep you logged in. This cookie is httpOnly, SameSite=Lax, and Secure in production. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

9. Data security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Passwords are managed by Supabase Auth and are never stored in plain text. Payment data is handled exclusively by PCI-compliant payment processors.

10. International transfers

Your data may be processed in the United States (Supabase) and other countries. Where required, we rely on standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards to ensure your data is protected.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance.
